OUGD504 - Studio Brief 2 - Researching Professional Websites & Interface Processes

In order to establish a sense of trust, loyalty and luxury within my interface designs, qualities of websites such as Rolex, Austin Martin and various Architectural companies have been analysed. I have attempted to identify what small qualities these websites all hold in common which could be an indicator to what makes them give off a aura of royalty.

The first process which was noticed was how you enter each website, their is usually some kind of simple load up animation which then fades into the interface itself. This process intrinsically gives the website more structure and looks more professional and established to the viewer.

Another process similar to this is that all of the photographs seem to fade in as you scroll down the screen. At the top of each website usually had a large full bleed image which would naturally fade into another image after a few seconds. This use of full bleed imagery seemed to be a reoccurrence throughout all of the websites viewed.

The use of negative space also seemed just as important as the images themselves. The careful spacing between each image was separated with negative space and minimalist text as the webpage is scrolled down.
