OUGD504 – Studio Brief 2


Context - 

The estate agents create a difficult process in order to make the homeowner feel as though they need to use an estate agent, with the internet and the huge amounts of information which can now be stored and accessed, these problems no longer need to exist

Estate Agents cost large quantities of money


Problem –

It is a difficult and time consuming process to locate and view houses using estate agents which in turn creates a bad user experience


Question –

How do we make the process of buying / selling a property easier for both parties involved?


Objectives / Aims –

To create a user friendly digital platform which helps the user easily and affordably sell, buy and rent houses.

To remove all unnecessary steps that occur during the property management process

To create a platform which makes the viewer recommend this method of buying / selling houses above the traditional methods available

To remove estate agents from the equation when buying and selling a house


Target Audience –

Landlords, Homeowners, Students, Ages 18+


Deliverables –

A blog post supporting the development and design stages of the project

A variety of mediums which effectively display the user interface of the digital concept

An Evaluation and Conclusion of the project

At least 3 different distinct ideas for the final resolution

Working moving prototype

Wire framing

Mock up and distinct concept designs

What are their strengths weaknesses opportunity and threats? SWOT

Strengths –

Established and Nationwide businesses

Weaknesses –

Outdated interface designs

All use the traditional process of selling houses

Opportunity –

By developing a new cheaper & appealing process for the consumer, a gap can be created within the current crowded market

There is a huge target audience which, if utilised properly, can produce huge amounts of revenue

The business could be scaled worldwide

Threats –

The current competition is firmly established within the community and therefore would be extremely difficult to overthrow


Their advertising is expensive and viewed on mainstream media
