OUGD503 - Inclusive Living - Solar City Roof Panel Research

Extended research into renewable sources of energy following my trip to the 'Grove' in the blog post
OUGD503 - Inclusive Living - Ecological & Sustainable Primary Researchhas revealed some new and innovative techniques. 'Solarcity' is the largest distributor of solar panels inn the US, their new tile released around a month ago, replicates the aesthetic of a conventional roof tile. The glass roof tiles are 10x stronger than conventional tiles and each one is 3D printed using a method which makes each one bespoke. Not only do they provide better insulation, are more durable and produce renewable energy, they are also cheaper than current tiles when the energy gathered is taken into consideration. The tiles will last longer, increasing the lifespan of each outhouses roof.

Once the energy is gathered from the glass tiles, it can be stored in 'Teslas' new 'Powerball 2' home battery system. Each lithium-ion battery would cost $5,500 in the US and £5,400 in the UK including installation, the initial cost, all things considered along with the solar panels, would be paid off between 6 and 9 years. All electricity gained after that would be free power, http://www.afr.com/technology/teslas-powerwall-2-can-pay-for-itself-in-6-years-then-its-electricity-is-free-20161124-gsx6vv
