OUGD603 - Brief 5 - Typeface Research

To create a design which was contextually appropriate to the time period and location of 1940's New York, I researched into various fonts which were produced around this time. When creating a homage to an artist or style, it is important to thoroughly research the history of the design in order to be aesthetically fitting and factually correct. I have researched these typefaces alongside the research from Soul/Jazz vinyl covers to make sure that I also represent the musical genre. Merging these two pieces of research together should help me to find the most appropriate typefaces for my design.
