OUGD504 - Studio Brief 1 - Further Bookbinding Research & Concept

Looking into and researching different binding methods has given me influence of creating a book using the tape binding method alongside some contextual content to inform the production method and relate the design to the illegality of the rave scene.

Having my content tape bound would mean that I could incorporate some police tape which were used in the shutting down of illegal warehouse parties and raves. This concept has evolved from my first peer critique session about covering the book in illegal items.

Possible experimentation could include -

• Perfect bound with square paper & mesh glued

• Tape Bound

• Case Bound

• Saddle Stitch
