OUGD504 - Studio Brief 1 - Bookbinding & Manual Resource Staff Feedback

The image below from previous primary research was shown to the bookbinding staff in hope for further insight and direction. The team helped to inform how a similar technique could be produced and bound and I have therefore booked in an advanced bookbinding one to one session to help me produce some mock up designs which will inform my final binding design. Hearing feedback from 3 members of staff was hugely beneficial and has shone a new light on the projects direction.

Approaching the bookbinding and manual resource staff has really helped to inform and develop the process of the design. It has informed the publication about possibly including a page for ISBN Numbers and publisher names. This will further prepare the publication for mass production whilst considering referencing all parties involved. These pages are included in all published publications and will further enhance the books professional qualities.

When asking about Indesign layout and page setup, I was told to visit the Computer Resource team who could possibly assist me further.

Other feedback is a book called 'Dust & Grooves' which is of a similar genre to my publication and could be beneficial as inspiration.

The bookbinding documentaries below were also recommended to watch
