OUGD603 - Brief 2 - Branding Research and Moodboard

To create a strong brand identity which embodied a musical aesthetic style, we as a group had to look at what currently thrived within the current market. This would allow us to create a bespoke and noticeable brand whilst also remaining relatable to our desired musical genre and therefore reaching out to our target demographic.

After analysis of current brands which dominate the musical industries, we noticed some similarities within the aesthetic style. Firstly, the majority of the designs utilised monotone lettering to distinctly communicate their brand identity to the viewer. This also allows for the design to be applied easily and cheaply to all kinds of merchandise such as headphones, promotional material, DJ equipment and on screen software. The brands also tent to use sans serif typefaces which resemble the digital electronical music age.
