For our brand identity we attempted to bestow relatable and recognisable lettering which would successfully communicate who we were as a brand and what industry we stemmed from. Our lettering needed to be representative of modern electronic music whilst also staying ubiquitous in order to not alienate any specific musical genres. This will be important if we host future events as the musical genres may differ slightly. For example, one event may focus heavily on acid house music whereas the next event may be more techno or disco.
We also decided upon a monotone colour scheme as this will allow the brand colour palette to be altered in accordance with the event being hosted. It will also be relatively cheap to produce on printed material which can be used across a number of medias and platforms to advertise the brand.
The final design decided upon by the group was rendered by Irfan Afzal with feedback and research conducted by the rest of the design team. Subtle kerning and spacing was conducted to keep the typeface minimalist but bold.
