Influence behind some of my designs currently in process have stemmed primarily from Andy Warhol and the Postmodern design aesthetics of the time. His Pop Art infused screen prints have inspired more expressionate and free flowing designs within my own poster concepts. This wild and expressionate process was very reminiscent of the rave culture around the the 80's-90's whose ideologies were being expressed within the core of the Love Parade event.

Even though Warhols aesthetics were more relevant in the 70's, his style and processes have still been considered as a core element to take influence from. The screen printing process also seems fitting for my own prints as it celebrates a technique which was being overtaken by the emergence of digital printers at the time.
With the advent of digital in the early ‘90s, process-color printing began to fall out of favor. This was primarily because it was so difficult to control. In fact, Joe Clarke’s 1986 book “Control Without Confusion” has been considered the definitive bible for this type of printing and went a long way toward introducing the variables and how to control them. I was fortunate enough to have provided the subject art and the actual project printing for that work.
