After looking at the work of Matias Troncoso, I became really interested in the surreal 3D effect which is applied in some of his work. Therefore, I have used some of my old photography to produce some experimentation based on his work. I have also experimented with other colour schemes whilst still keeping the overall style.
When trying to push this concept further, I decided to experiment with the material of the vinyl cover and looked at transparent material to enhance the 3D effect. After having a one on one discussion from the tutor John, we looked at how to create the transparent cover. It was suggested that layers of printed acetate could be built up on the front to further give the effect a 3D aesthetic. By printing all of the red on one layer and all of the blue on another, it would give the design more depth once built up on top of each other. After the feedback, I also decided that I could include some 3D glasses inside the case and attempt to create an actual 3D case. The glasses could also be designed in coherence with the overall design.
I also found the cover below when looking for transparent covers online. This design has used embossing into the plastic which caught my eye as being really unique. I am not sure how the embossing has been done however, intend to look into it if i push this concept further.
